When women lose the weight they wanted, they would soon start worrying if they could keep it up. Pretty soon they would start getting anxious about when they would start gaining weight again. The extra pounds lost will become an issue. Women in particular are very concious about their bodies. To some, they even see themselves as too fat and too ugly. Weight loss has become a struggle because women lost their sense of appreciation on themselves.
A particular study says that hypno-therapy works because therapist were able to address these women’s beliefs first. It all boils down to the core belief of how women think of themselves. It doesn’t matter how people see these women, the issue is how these women see themselves. Weight loss becomes secondary. They should first be at peace with who they are and what they want for themselves. If women change their beliefs about themselves first, then any struggle, including weight loss can be addressed next.
Low self-esteem and a deep need for approval often leads women to use desperate measures to loose their weight. To some, obsession for weight loss caused them to resort to eating disorders such as Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa, both of which are life-threatening.
Anorexia is when someone has a distorted body image. When other people see underweight women, and those same women see their reflections in the mirror as someone who still needs to loose weight. Bulimia Nervosa on the other hand, is an eating disorder where one consumes large amount of food then gets rid of it as soon as possible by vomiting, taking laxative or doing excessive exercises.
What’s more confusing for these women is how media successfully instilled weight loss as a means for women to be appreciated. The message media imparts slim and sexy as beautiful. They ride on women’s obsession for weight loss to push their products and services down from soap, tea drinks, miracle supplements, to no-exercise no-diet programs. Advertisements are filled with easy do it, drink this, take this and be perfect commercials.
I don’t have anything against these weight loss ads, businesses deemed these promotions to boost their sales. Women in particular are free to choose what they would buy and take to beautify themselves. But the real question is why?
What is the reason for taking the steps to undergo weight loss? Women should establish the right reasons first before taking whatever steps they deemed necessary. I had struggled with weight loss multiple times. It has never been a problem when I was single because I was thin. Not slim but thin. So my predicament back then was struggle with weight gain, but that’s another story. When I got married and had kids, after every birth giving is a struggle to get back the pre-pregnancy weight. I felt ugly and fat. It has been a cycle, until I came to my senses that gaining weight was never really the problem. It was how I perceived what others think about me. Weight loss can be achieve steadily if you discern the real reason why you want to do so.
So for women both single and married, I have formulated simple steps on how you can go about your weight loss and loving yourself in the process.
1. Check your self-esteem. Am I doing this to please someone else? Is someone pressuring me to loose weight? Is this my personal decision? Do I want to look slim for myself or for others? Do I want to loose weight because all my friends are doing it too? Do I want to loose weight because I want to be like and appreciated?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you should start to address your core belief first. Begin by liking yourself and giving yourself a pat in the back. Achieving that desired weight loss will never satisfy you if you failed to appreciate who you are first.
2. Don’t look for quick fixes. A lot of advertising nowadays focused on how you can do it in as easy as 1-2-3. There’s truth in the phrase, ” easy come, easy go”. There’s still no substitute for hard work. And the very basic procedures still goes a long way.
3. Clean your act. Eat a balance meal. Clean your fridge. Get rid of junk foods. Start checking for food that is not supposed to be there. Opt for good old water instead of carbonated drinks and artificial juice drinks. If you’re really serious about your health, getting the unwanted pounds is just scratching the surface. Weight loss can be achieved by healing yourself both mind and body. You can do this through the natural food available in our local market. You can check natural healing to discover how real food leads to natural weight loss.
4. Get ready to sweat it out. An exercise regimen does not have to be excessive, unless you are aiming for hard rock abs. If you have no intention of being a mix martial artist or a cross-fit athlete, then a simple doable work-out regimen will suffice. A consistent exercise can do wonders in your body. It can strengthen your immune system. Ever wondered why an active lifestyle leads to healthy body? Biology tells us that our lymph nodes which are distributed through our lymphatic vessels helps us in our immunity to diseases. But unlike the circulatory system, the lymphatic system doesn’t have a pumping station to distribute it properly through the entire body. To put it simply, we have to move to help our lymphatic system fight diseases. A sedentary lifestyle weakens our body. Again, moderation is the key. A good daily walk for a start is great.
5. Start now! Most women’s weight loss struggle can only be addressed one day at a time. Discern your reasons for doing so. Don’t look for the easy way. Eat a healthy balance meal, and get ready to keep moving one day at a time.
And remember, you are not alone. A lot of women all over the world have their own struggle with weight loss. You need not be rigid in doing the steps. You can have a treat once in awhile so you won’t feel deprived. The trick there is to get back to the routine as soon as possible . Be consistent in appreciating and loving yourself.

It would be nice to hear from you…
