First Reading – Sirach 42:15-25
“Mommy, why did God created the worm?” my 2nd grader asked me one time. I readily answered him that they help the earth decompose. “How about the rats and the cockroaches?” he added. I told him it’s not clear to me either, but I’m certain that God made everything with a purpose.
All beings has its own purpose and the first reading stated that God did not make a single creation in vain.
This passage reminds me to channel all my actions with a purpose. Sometimes we chase the wrong things because we forget our purpose. For what it is, only God can tell us. No one is this world can tell us our purpose. Only through prayer and meditation can bring us closer to what we are supposed to do.

think…God knows what we need and He does what is necessary to make it available
Reflection…Needs and wants. God provides our every needs and even our wants. We just have to be ready to receive it. Blessings come for those who are ready to receive the abundance.

God our Father, if I still have something that prevents me from receiving your blessings, reveal it to me. Take away my blind spots so I can see clearly and be ready for the abundance You promise. Instruct me in Your ways alone. When everyday is a grind, teach me to do only what is good and essential in Your eyes. It is difficult for me to tell the difference, of what I am required to do and what I just want to do. I want to accomplish them all. But You have a different definition of good. So it is imperative that I hear Your voice in every single task I should do, so I can discern if it is even worth doing.

It would be nice to hear from you…
