For six years since 2008, homeschooling has changed my perspective in a lot of ways. At first it was a struggle to survive the school year without losing my sanity. It was a constant battle of thinning patience and guilt. At one time I would be the super tolerant mom who is slow to anger but then often times I would turn into a monster-like mom who would explode at a slightest provocation.
It was very frustrating and stressful at first, until God’s grace provided me with the Wisdom to overcome my weaknesses and use it homeschool my kids the Godly way.
Last Moving Up Day – March 21, 2014, our family was asked to lead the opening prayer. I asked my boys to help me lead so they could take part in blessing the Catholic Filipino Academy family who became an instrument in bringing our family closer to each other and most especially to our Creator.
Moving up Day and Graduation Prayer
Mommy…
Let us remind ourselves of God’s presence, In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Almighty Father, today we celebrate the Moving up and Graduation Day of our homeschoolers. We thank You for the continued grace that you have given us parents, to persevere no matter how difficult the challenge in meeting the completion of homeschooling every year.
As part of Catholic Filipino Academy family we experience mixed emotions of great pride, joyfulness, and thankfulness of our children’s achievement. Today, we as administrators, parent coaches, and parents declare in good faith and with great confidence that we sent our kids to the best school by taking their education in our own hands through your Divine guidance.
Joshua…
Let us allow ourselves to celebrate this event and thank our Lord Jesus who was the source of our parent’s strength especially in times of weakness such as irritability, distractions, and exhaustion. It was not easy for them to be parents and teachers in one. But God equipped them with Wisdom and humility to have the patience and understanding to learn from us kids as well.
Ethan…
We also ask the Holy Spirit to continue to guide us in our decisions. Let faith reign in our hearts and not uncertainty of the future, reminding ourselves that this journey called homeschooling is more than just academics. It is granting every family focus of what is good and true.
Kyan…
Mama Mary, thank you for all the mothers and fathers who decided to homeschool us. To God be the Glory!
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Two years ago, Josh was also asked to lead the prayer before meal in our United Nations Day Activity. He insisted on memorizing the prayer instead of reading it, God bless my firstborn.
UN Day Prayer Before Meal
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit Amen.
Almighty Father, we from the CFA family, thank you for the blessings set out for us. Let no one go hungry but give us thy gifts through our meals everyday.
We give thanks for the sacrifices of the plants and animals so we could survive and live. We also give thanks for the love and service of the people who prepared this meal.
Please help us remember to give glory to You by not letting any food go to waste.
God our Ultimate Provider, may the food that we are about to receive renew our strength, our health, and our mind.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

It would be nice to hear from you…
