“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?Luke 6:46
Fr. Dave Concepcion, in his 6th day of the Misa De Gallo homily mentioned an acronym on how we should prepare our hearts this Christmas season and for the rest of our lives.
H.A.S.T.E
HUMILITY
- Let us humble ourselves to God. Conduct your dealings with other people with all humility.
AVAILABILITY
- Make yourselves available to God whenever you feel God’s prompting. Answer His call without hesitation. God will not put you in a situation where He is not present.
SIMPLE
- Don’t complicate things. Be simple in all areas of your life. Make simplicity a lifestyle.
- Simple people are peaceful people. They don’t need to draw attention to themselves because they are secure.
THANKFULNESS
- Complainers are individuals who lacks gratitude. Be grateful in simple things. Even what seems to be bad news, if it brings you closer to God, it is good for you.
- The air you breath, the restful sleep you get, the roof above your head, and many other blessings are enough to make you feel grateful for life.
- Stop keeping up with the joneses because most of them are broke.
EUCHARISTIC
- Actively seek God’s wisdom and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
If you want something to change next year, then MAKE HASTE TO GOD alone. Make Him your priority and everything will come into place.
