Pray Your Way to Intimacy with God
by Fr. Bob McConaghy
Does God answer your prayers? What kind of prayers does God answer? How do we pray? How do we say our prayers? Are we supposed to say a prayer from the heart? A prayer from a prayer book? A prayer taught to us since we were little kids? How do we know that God listens to our prayers? Is He even concerned with the menial stuff that we’re worried about?
Closer, the first ever book by Fr. Bob McConaghy answers the following questions. You will finally understand what prayer is and why do we say it. Whether you feel like God answers a lot of other people’s prayer but yours.

I first heard Fr. Bob gave a homily in The Feast (Makati), a weekly gathering of Catholic Christians. It is a gathering that begins with a celebration of the Holy Eucharist, followed by worship, then concluded with a talk.
I look forward to the Holy Mass, especially the Homily part when Fr. Bob McConaghy celebrates it with us. After reading Closer, I now understand that I haven’t experienced the real presence of God during the Holy Mass because I am looking at the Mass “E over I,” Emotion over Intellect. For those who are wondering what it means, better read the book.
It’s a very simple book that will bring you Closer to God, hence the title. Easy reading yet very concise!
Reading the book is like hearing Fr. Bob talk. The way he wrote the book is the way he gives his homilies. Very well written because it is direct, straightforward, and honest. It wasn’t even theological as I thought it would. Written in a very practical way that you would think a lay person have had authored it.
So before you start asking if God really answers prayers, read a book that explains what prayer does to you and to God.
Have a Blessed Easter …
