Why do we continue to trust the wrong person repeatedly?

We share our deepest thoughts only to be used against us.  And yet, this is not the first time we were betrayed by this person?  During our most vulnerable and weakest moment, we find this person willing to listen to us.  Only to find ourselves susceptible to this person’s bad taste of humor.

Why do we care so much about what other people think?

In the right perspective, we should only think of what God thinks of us.  But why do we find ourselves trying to please the people we don’t even like?  Why do we even care what other people think? Whether this person is regarded as an authority or not, sometimes we bend over backwards. We agree with ideas we don’t even believe.

We sure do need others in our life because no one is self-made.  We create relationships that make us feel good about ourselves.  A relationship should nurture the kind of person God intends us to be. Otherwise, we are in the wrong relationship. If a relationship doesn’t help us grow into the person God desires, it’s not the right relationship. We must pray to God to bring people into our lives who don’t always agree with us. People who are willing to give us corrections and won’t lead us astray.

Don’t look for friends who agree with you all the time but betray you in the end.

Don’t look for friends who make you feel good all the time but are sincerely insincere.

At the same time, be authentic as much as possible to the people you are with.  Be honest and gentle at the same time.

People will like you because you’re real.

You can only be charming for a time.

Real character does not need to be maintained because that’s who you really are.

It would be nice to hear from you…
